JP grew up in Bellingham and Lakewood, WA. He attended Whitworth University in Spokane, WA earning a degree in religion with a minor in music. He continued his education at the Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey. Upon finishing seminary JP was called to serve as the Associate Pastor of Adult Education and Pastoral Care at Eastridge Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, NE. After 5 years he moved to Omaha serving as the Associate Pastor of Congregational Life at Dundee Presbyterian Church. From 2014 to 2016 he served as pastor at First Presbyterian Church (Anaconda) and the Church of the Big Hole (Melrose, Wise River and Wisdom). In 2016 Christ the King Lutheran Church (Bozeman) called him to serve as the Director of Children’s, Youth and Family Ministries. JP took over the role as the campus pastor for Lutheran Campus Ministry at Montana State University in 2021.
